Read more to see why the Audi Q7 MPG ratings are much improved.

audi q7 tdi engineThe Audi Q7 gas mileage totals are much better than other full-sized all-wheel drive vehicles on the market. The nearly 2.4 ton Audi Q7 gets 17 MPG in the City and 25 MPG on the highway from the TDI engine. Power checks in at 225 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. or torque. That huge amount of torque is great for towing and accelerating.

Like all Audi Q7 SUVs; the 3.0 TDI is mated to Audi’s all new eight-speed tiptronic gearbox and Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The transmission alone increases gas mileage ratings by 5%. This is to support a more sporty ride. But the TDI also has direct fuel injection which shoots the fuel directly into the cylinder. This is much more efficient and thus the gas mileage and power outputs are improved.

The smaller engine, direct injection, and 8-speed transmission go along way in helping the Audi Q7 land at the top of the list for luxury SUV gas mileage ratings.
