With tons of horsepower something needs to keep the R8 Spyder GT under control. Slowing down this beast is a set of high-performance brakes system that include ceramic brake rotors. The red anodized calipers with the inscription “Audi” are visible through the forged 19-inch wheels in 5 twin-spoke Y design in titanium finish. The brake discs are made of carbon fiber-reinforced ceramic. This tough, abrasion-resistant material has the same operating conditions at a much higher durability and offers a weight advantage over comparable steel wheels. At the same time it is insensitive to high thermal loads, which increases the stability of the brake.
The discs of the Audi R8 Spyder GT consist of carbon fiber-reinforced ceramic. The ceramic front brake is a 6-piston monoblock aluminum caliper and rear installed a 4-piston calipers. The characteristic perforations of the plates and the red anodized calipers front and rear, with the inscription “Audi ceramic” are unique symbols for these high-performance brakes.
Advantages: very good braking performance and fade resistance, durability, weight optimized.
